According to Jin10, Meta Platforms is considering issuing at least $20 billion in cross-border investment-grade bonds in the U.S. dollar and euro markets. The final size has not been determined and could increase depending on investor demand. Meta has hired Citi and Morgan Stanley to arrange investor calls. The dollar-denominated bonds are expected to have maturities of 5 to 30 years, while the euro-denominated bonds are expected to mature in about 4 to 38 years. This would be Meta’s first large bond sale in six months and its first euro-denominated bond issue. As technology giants continue borrowing to fund data centers and chip purchases, concerns about returns on AI investment have increased, bond demand has cooled, and investors are demanding higher yields. Meta has previously issued $25 billion in common stock and $12.5 billion in preferred stock, and plans to raise up to $60 billion through an at-the-market stock offering program.
