Bitcoin short-term holders’ cost basis is now near $76,000 after their profits increased sharply yesterday. According to Odaily, analyst Darkfost said the short-term holder MVRV indicator is approaching the neutral level of 1, after rising above 1.18 in late September to its highest point since July 2025. That earlier reading indicated short-term holders had their highest unrealized profits in more than a year.
Darkfost said the group’s cost basis has risen from about $67,500 in mid-August as holders entered the market during Bitcoin’s advance. With Bitcoin’s medium-term trend turning positive, a return of MVRV to around 1 may be a key price area for short-term holders. Some may continue buying, while others may sell at a loss; which response prevails remains uncertain.
