According to CNBC, the Nationwide Renaissance Small Cap Growth Fund (NWGPX) is estimated to distribute 56.6% of its net asset value in capital gains, while the A-share version of the MFS Global Equity Fund (MWEFX) is set to distribute 31% to 33%. Morningstar senior manager research analyst Stephen Welch compiled a list of funds with the highest estimated distributions for 2026. Fund families expect to make the distributions in December. Investors holding the funds in taxable brokerage accounts may owe long-term capital gains taxes at rates of 0%, 15% or 20%, depending on taxable income; holdings in tax-deferred accounts such as IRAs and 401(k)s are not affected. Investors can use tax-loss harvesting to offset capital gains, and may direct distributions to cash rather than reinvesting them.
