XRP Ledger developers have proposed four fixes to close exceptions that allow restricted tokens to enter accounts without issuer approval; the changes have not been activated on the mainnet. According to Odaily, the fixes are included in the network upgrade fixCleanup3_5_0. Some restricted tokens on XRP Ledger require issuer approval before an account can hold them, but developers found several ways to bypass that requirement. The proposed changes include requiring approval for both tokens in an automated market maker pool before a user can buy into it, and addressing a check that only applied to trust lines with zero balances, allowing lines already holding tokens to receive more. The XRP Ledger Foundation said the changes are routine protocol hardening, not a security incident, and that it had received no reports of affected users.
