Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and his wife's trust donated a total of 438,000 company shares on September 17. According to Sina Finance, SEC filings released on September 18 showed that 292,000 shares went to the Huang family foundation and 146,000 shares went to a donor-advised fund.
Nvidia shares rose 1.34% on September 18 to $222.27, giving the company a market value of $5.4 trillion. According to Sina Finance, the donated shares were worth about $97.35 million based on that price.
The filings also showed that about 160,200 Nvidia shares held by five executives, including Huang, were withheld by the company on September 16 at $212.17 per share to cover taxes. According to Sina Finance, Huang was involved in 45,728 shares, worth about $9.7 million.
The other four executives were Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress, General Counsel Timothy S. Teter, Executive Vice President of Operations Debora Shoquist, and Chief Accounting Officer Scott Gawel. Kress also separately sold 34,918 Nvidia shares on September 17 at prices between $217.42 and $219.865 per share, for proceeds of about $7.65 million, under a 10b5-1 trading plan set on June 16 this year.
