Block CEO Jack Dorsey said he supports reviewing, independently evaluating, and planning frontier AI, but opposes government and leading AI companies negotiating industry-wide development limits. According to Odaily, he said open releases should allow outside researchers to reproduce results, identify problems, and develop alternatives, while independent and safety researchers should receive support in the form of models, computing power, and public infrastructure.
Block is developing open-source AI tools and offers Bitcoin-related services through products including Square and Cash App. The company has also launched the open-source AI agent goose and developed Bitcoin mining hardware Proto and the hardware wallet Bitkey.
