Hong Kong's half-day short selling turnover totaled HK$18.35 billion, accounting for 19.06% of market turnover of HK$96.248 billion, with 795 stocks sold short, according to ETNet.
Tracker Fund of Hong Kong (02800) and Southern Hang Seng TECH ETF (03033) were the most shorted names, with HK$2.156 billion and HK$1.217 billion respectively, representing 11.75% and 6.63% of total short selling. Their short sales accounted for 40.64% and 24.29% of each stock's turnover.
XL2 Southern Hynix (07709) and Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (02828) recorded short sales of HK$991 million and HK$762 million, equal to 5.4% and 4.15% of the total. Their short sales made up 65.79% and 44.74% of each stock's turnover. Tracker Fund of Hong Kong closed at HK$25.50, down HK$0.06 or 0.23%; Southern Hang Seng TECH ETF ended at HK$4.268, up HK$0.032 or 0.76%; XL2 Southern Hynix rose HK$0.36 or 0.97% to HK$37.38; and Hang Seng China Enterprises Index fell HK$0.22 or 0.26% to HK$85.44.
