Elon Musk said he has long warned about AI risks and agreed with a long post by Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei. According to Sina Finance, Musk wrote on X, “Dario is right,” and attached an old post from 2023 in which he said the risks of artificial general intelligence were far greater than those of nuclear weapons. Musk also said SpaceX’s AI unit has been building data centers and launching the Grok chatbot, while Tesla is advancing its “physical AI” projects, including autonomous robotaxis and the humanoid robot Optimus, which is planned for production by the end of this year. SpaceX CFO Bret Johnsen recently said the company’s AI computing business had annual recurring revenue of $45.7 billion as of last December and that he was more confident about reaching a $100 billion ARR target by the end of this year. According to Sina Finance, Amodei and his rival, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, may also scale back operations and delay IPO plans. Anthropic’s IPO filing could be submitted at any time, and the document may say product iteration and infrastructure expansion are slowing, which would weigh on profitability metrics. The Financial Times reported that, excluding some costs, the company’s profit margin could still remain at 80%. Altman has already said OpenAI will delay its listing until 2027, citing the need to address AI safety risks.
