According to CNBC, an Amazon cargo plane operated by 21 Air LLC overran the runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday, crashed into vehicles inside and outside the airport boundary, and killed at least five people while injuring at least five others. Federal investigators said the Boeing 767-300 went about 1,300 feet beyond the runway after arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and that the fatalities came from a 2021 Ford Econoline van and a Toyota Corolla Cross. Jennifer Homendy, chair of the National Transportation Safety Board, described the scene as "utter devastation" and said investigators had recovered the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder. Two of the airport's four runways remained closed after the accident, which led to more than 160 flight cancellations and nearly 325 delays by late Sunday.
