The Ethereum Foundation said Protocol Cluster has published two articles that systematically assess the next network upgrade, Hegotá. One article evaluates and ranks 62 proposed EIPs, marking the team’s first unified EIP rating list for a single network upgrade.
According to Odaily, about 60 researchers, engineers, and domain experts from nine Protocol Cluster teams took part in the review, submitting 397 rating opinions and discussing proposals with differing views in person. A second article outlines the current and future priorities for Ethereum’s protocol layer, including a goal of making Ethereum L1 quantum-resistant by December 2029.
The Ethereum Foundation said these upgrade plans, long-term technical goals, and Protocol Cluster’s shared priorities will help determine the final scope of the Hegotá upgrade and the ratings for each EIP. Protocol Cluster will also hold an AMA in Reddit’s r/ethereum community at 14:00 UTC on September 16 to discuss Hegotá EIP ratings and Ethereum protocol priorities.
