Base Co-Founder Jesse Pollak Says X Account Was Hacked and Used to Promote Scam Token

Base co-founder Jesse Pollak said on X that his account was hacked and that the attacker used a third-party app connected to the account to post a scam token ticker. According to Odaily, Pollak said the posts have been deleted, all third-party app connections have been removed, and he has fully regained control of the account. Screenshots of the deleted post showed the attacker promoted a token called BASEMEME and described it as the "first meme coin with real utility," while also including an o1.exchange trading link and contract address. The meme coin's market value is now $257,000.
