HKMA Appoints Du Kit-mei As Chief Legal Counsel

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority said Financial Secretary Paul Chan has accepted a recommendation from the governance committee under the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee and approved the appointment of Du Kit-mei as chief legal counsel, effective February 12, 2027, according to ETNet. Du will succeed Jane Kan, who is due to retire in February 2027. The chief legal counsel provides legal advice and guidance across all of the HKMA's functions. HKMA Chief Executive Eddie Yue said Kan has served the authority for more than 30 years and thanked her for her contribution.
