Memecoin launchpad Pons said on Thursday that Uniswap Labs has bought its PONS token, describing the move as long-term alignment and a deepening of cooperation. According to ChainCatcher, neither side disclosed the purchase size, execution price, or wallet address, and Pons did not say whether Uniswap Labs bought on the open market or received an allocation.
Pons launched on July 13 and deployed its V2 contract on August 3. Its V2 routes tokens that complete a bonding curve raise into Uniswap V4 pools, while Robinhood Chain currently accounts for 56.3% of Uniswap V4’s total network trading volume. Uniswap Labs launched a competing launchpad, Pools.trade, on Robinhood Chain on August 5, and it surpassed Pons on its first day.
Pons said it generated $5.95 million in fees over the past 24 hours, $28.83 million over seven days, and $40.84 million over 30 days. It also said about 80% of protocol fees are used to buy back PONS, with 29.34% of supply burned so far. PONS was trading at $0.5013, up 17.5% over 24 hours.
