Glean said Anthropic customers' actual bills are 80% higher than a reasonable level. According to Sina Finance, the AI search startup said its internal tests showed lower usage costs than Anthropic's Claude Cowork app across more than 180 business tasks.
Glean said its tool helps customers such as Intuit, Booking.com, and Zillow build a context layer, including an enterprise knowledge graph, so AI agents can quickly access the data needed to complete tasks. A Glean spokesperson said its AI assistant, which uses Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.8 model underneath, consumed 70% fewer tokens than Anthropic's native Claude Cowork app running Claude Sonnet 5 in high-reasoning mode for the same tasks.
Glean said its AI assistant charges customers an average of 81% less per task than Claude Cowork. Chief Executive Arvind Jain said the context layer can reduce lengthy retrieval work and help customers save money. Glean also said its agents can meet the same security and data protection standards that companies give to internal employees.
