STOCKS | South Korea's Kospi Narrows Losses as Pension Funds Buy Late

South Korea's benchmark Kospi briefly erased a loss of as much as 3.6% before trading down 0.1%. According to Sina Finance, Samsung Securities stock sales trader Lim Roy said pension funds bought Kospi constituent stocks significantly in the closing minutes, with a focus on technology shares. Lim said pension funds were net buyers of 120 billion won of stocks within 20 minutes. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix were little changed after both had fallen more than 4% earlier and recovered their losses. Retail investors were net buyers of 785 billion won of Kospi stocks, while foreign investors were net sellers of 931 billion won. The small-cap Kosdaq index narrowed its decline from 4% earlier to about 0.8%.
