Meituan Says Q2 2026 New Business Operating Loss Narrowed by RMB 1.7 Billion

According to Jin10, Meituan (03690.HK) said operating profit in its core local commerce segment rose to RMB 5.7 billion in the second quarter of 2026 from RMB 3.7 billion a year earlier, with the segment's operating margin increasing to 7.9% from 5.7%. The company said the increase in operating profit and operating margin was mainly due to its focus on high-quality growth through dynamically optimized marketing strategies. Meituan said operating loss in its new business segment narrowed to RMB 1.7 billion in the second quarter of 2026 from RMB 1.9 billion a year earlier, while the segment's operating loss margin improved to 5.3% from 7.1%. It said the improvement in operating loss and operating loss margin was mainly due to higher operating efficiency in its grocery retail and overseas businesses.
