The Electronic Transactions Association, which represents companies including Visa, Mastercard, Amazon, and PayPal, said BitPay has officially joined the group. According to Foresight News, the association said more such partnerships are expected as the payments industry continues to innovate.
ETA CEO Jason Oxman said the collaboration with Bitcoin payments provider BitPay shows the association does not ignore innovation. He said he is working to shape ETA into an organization willing to work with emerging technology startups, including Bitcoin-related companies, and added that his choices depend largely on market demand.
