India has blocked Telegram nationwide until June 22 after the National Testing Agency (NTA) said cheating rackets allegedly used the platform to defraud candidates ahead of the NEET medical entrance re-examination set for June 21, according to BeInCrypto. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology issued the order under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, and also directed Telegram to disable message editing in India until June 30. The NTA said the restriction ends June 22 and acknowledged it affects lakhs of legitimate users.
