Americans rank job loss as their biggest fear about artificial intelligence, while curing diseases like cancer tops their hopes, according to a survey of nearly 52,000 people by Anthropic. According to BeInCrypto, Anthropic’s Public Record study surveyed 51,993 Americans in late 2025 and found 64% cited job loss as their top AI fear, followed by cognitive dependency (56%) and misinformation (52%). Only 15% said they trust AI companies to steer the technology. On the upside, 48% put curing cancer or Alzheimer’s among their top three AI uses, and 71% want government involvement in AI oversight.
