Cosmos ecosystem decentralized exchange (DEX) Osmosis has announced an update to its Cosmos Hub proposal based on feedback from validators and the community. According to Foresight News, the most significant change is the decision to cease minting new ATOM tokens. Instead, the required ATOM will be gradually purchased on the open market using revenue from the Osmosis DEX protocol for OSMO/ATOM conversions. The total acquisition will remain capped at less than 2.5% of the total ATOM supply. The proposal is currently in the governance discussion phase within the Cosmos Hub.
Previously, Foresight News reported that Osmosis had proposed a significant initiative to the Cosmos ecosystem, aiming to integrate Osmosis directly into the Cosmos Hub. If governance approvals are obtained from both chains, Osmosis DEX will natively migrate to the Hub, thereby unifying liquidity, governance, and security on a single chain.
