According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command stated that each MC-130J aircraft used in the Iranian operation to rescue the crew of a downed U.S. F-15E fighter jet is worth over $100 million. This type of aircraft is designed to deploy troops to hostile areas and conduct withdrawal operations, possesses aerial refueling capabilities, and is equipped with advanced sensors for defense against air defense interception, including a heat-tracking system. A U.S. official stated that the U.S. military destroyed two MC-130J aircraft during the rescue operation. The U.S. official did not specify the cause of the problems encountered by the aircraft. A senior Iranian official released photos of the burned wreckage of at least one aircraft. Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf posted on social media: "If the United States achieves three more such 'victories,' it will be utterly destroyed."
