The Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office in South Korea has recovered approximately $21.4 million worth of Bitcoin stolen from its custody last year. The assets, originally seized from a gambling platform, were stolen in August after investigators mistakenly accessed a phishing website and leaked their mnemonic phrase. Because prosecutors blocked transactions in the relevant wallets, making it difficult to liquidate the assets, the hackers returned 320.8 Bitcoins to the official wallet on Tuesday. The recovered Bitcoins have been transferred to a local exchange, and the hackers' identities remain unknown.
