Crédit Mutuel Arkéa Confirms Cyberattack After ZachXBT Flags $133M in Suspected Losses

French bank Crédit Mutuel Arkéa confirmed that a cyberattack enabled fraudulent transfers from its account, which were converted into crypto through specialized platforms. ZachXBT estimated losses at more than $133 million, and the bank validated the order of magnitude without confirming a final figure, according to The Block. The bank said Wednesday that customer assets were unaffected, the incident had been contained and some stolen funds had been blocked. ZachXBT first publicly flagged the exploit on Nov. 2 and said losses could rise because the attack unfolded over several days.
