Starknet Community Vote Supports Studying Independent L1 Transition, but Migration Is Not Approved

Starknet said a community vote backed studying a potential transition to an independent Layer 1 network, but did not approve a migration. According to Odaily, the first nonbinding vote ended on October 22 and strongly supported further research into the proposal. During Token2049, Eli Ben-Sasson raised whether Starknet should become an independent L1 to advance quantum-secure network development. A joint working group formed by StarkWare and the Starknet Foundation is examining the technical benefits, security assumptions, trade-offs and implications, and plans to publish a research paper for community review.
