Binance's Yi He Says Security Staff Were Already Tackling Hack When She Learned of It

Binance co-CEO Yi He said the exchange's security staff detected and began responding to its recent hack before she became involved. She made the comments on X in reply to a post by crypto media outlet Wu Blockchain about the incident. "We have an emergency response mechanism, and the relevant teams are on duty 24/7," Yi wrote. "My colleagues spotted it first and had already started working on it. I only joined after I found out through X." Citing Bloomberg, Wu Blockchain had reported that Yi "first noticed the anomaly via X," after which Binance "quickly assembled a cross-border emergency team of about 100 people." That wording differed from the order of events in Bloomberg's original report, which said: "Alarmed, she logged back on and saw that Binance's security and wallet teams – which are empowered to act on hacks without executive sign off – were already at work, trying to stop more losses. Within minutes, the company created a war room that swelled to about 100 people around the world." Yi's account matches Bloomberg's report.
