Mexico's Sheinbaum and U.S. President Donald Trump Hold Trade Call

According to Sina Finance, multiple people familiar with the matter said Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and U.S. President Donald Trump held a phone call on Wednesday to discuss bilateral trade issues. U.S. and Mexican officials are conducting trade talks aimed at resolving several unresolved disputes, including U.S. tariffs and rules of origin for Mexican exports. The call came after Canada-U.S. trade talks broke down at the end of last month. Trump suggested at a campaign event on Wednesday that Mexico-U.S. trade talks could make breakthrough progress and said a "major deal" was close. The White House did not respond to a request for comment. One source said the next round of Mexico-U.S. trade talks is expected to begin in Washington on September 28.
