Apple Unveils iPhone 18 Pro and First Foldable iPhone Duo

Apple wrapped up its fall event on September 10, 2026, unveiling the iPhone 18 Pro series and its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo. According to ChainCatcher, the iPhone 18 Pro series starts at $1,199, while the iPhone Duo is priced at $1,999. The article said the iPhone 18 Pro uses TSMC's 2nm process and estimated the hardware cost of a $1,199 iPhone 18 Pro at about $520 to $560. It also said the launch could trigger a major reshuffling of supply-chain orders worth tens of billions of dollars. The report described the event as a potential example of the market's “buy the rumor, sell the news” pattern, saying AAPL had already risen from around $300 to above $320 before the event. It added that shares of related suppliers such as TSM and QCOM could see sharp short-term swings after the announcement, while options volatility may fall once uncertainty clears. The article also warned that retail investors may face risks when trading Apple-related stocks or options during periods of high volatility, including losses from falling implied volatility even if the price moves in the expected direction.
