Hang Lung Properties CEO Says Hong Kong Retail Strategy Will Focus On Products And Events

Hang Lung Properties CEO Lu Wei-pak said after attending the opening ceremony of the Amoy Plaza pedestrian bridge this morning that, as Hong Kong residents’ northbound spending has become less intense after one to two years, the group will focus on improving its own offerings, products and events in Hong Kong to attract more foot traffic and tenants, according to Ming Pao. He said the group has been planning for about 18 months to bring tenants back to Hong Kong. He expects the company to move from attracting one brand or one tenant at a time to drawing multiple brands together in future, and said Hang Lung’s Causeway Bay shops are working with a home furnishing brand, with the aim of attracting brands making their first entry into Hong Kong.
