Fed, BOJ and BOE Set for Rate Decisions in Global Central Bank Week

Global markets are facing a heavy week of central bank decisions, with the Federal Reserve, the Bank of Japan and the Bank of England all due to announce policy outcomes, according to Jiemian News. The Fed will release its latest rate decision on Wednesday local time, followed by a news conference from Chair Kevin Warsh. After the U.S. August consumer price index showed inflation pressure had not eased, CME FedWatch data put the odds of a September rate hike at 87.3%. The Bank of Japan is expected to raise rates by 25 basis points to 1.25% on Friday, while the Bank of England is expected to keep its policy rate unchanged at 3.75% on Thursday local time, though markets are watching for any signal of a possible hike as early as November.
