PwC China, Xinhua Think Tank Release 2026 Report On Foreign Investment

PwC China, Xinhua News Agency's Outlook Think Tank and Outlook Finance jointly released the "Opportunity Cities 2026" report at the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services, according to Ming Pao. The report said 80% of global foreign direct investment is now concentrated in 20 economies, while AI and semiconductor industries account for 44% of global greenfield investment. It said capital is increasingly flowing to markets and sectors with lower risk and clearer prospects, and that multinational companies are now focused less on whether to invest in China than on which Chinese cities, industries and participation models to choose.
