EU Commission Expands Central Contact Point Framework to Crypto Service Providers

The European Commission has adopted a delegated act to extend its Central Contact Point framework to crypto-asset service providers, requiring exchanges and similar firms operating in member states to appoint a local contact person. According to Odaily, the framework previously applied only to electronic money institutions and payment institutions, and the revision brings crypto service providers into the anti-money laundering and compliance supervision network to improve information sharing and enforcement coordination.
