UN Chief Urges Russia-Ukraine Talks to Resume

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres wants recent diplomatic efforts to help Russia and Ukraine resume talks. According to Sina Finance, his spokesman Stephane Dujarric said at a regular briefing on the 8th that Guterres was encouraged by diplomatic efforts including visits to Moscow and Kyiv by a U.S. envoy. He said Guterres hopes the new initiative will help Ukraine and Russia resume talks, paving the way for an immediate, unconditional, comprehensive ceasefire and a fair, comprehensive, and lasting peace in line with international law. The United Nations is willing to help, and Guterres also expressed serious concern over continued attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in Russia and Ukraine.
