SEC Chair Atkins Says New Crypto Rules Aim To Bring Firms Back To U.S.

SEC Chairman Paul Atkins said the SEC’s proposed Regulation Crypto Assets is designed to lure crypto companies back to the United States after years abroad, arguing heavy-handed enforcement drove builders overseas. According to BeInCrypto, Atkins said the plan’s capital-raising exemptions are part of a broader push to replace “regulation by enforcement” with clearer rules. Atkins also urged Congress to pass the CLARITY Act, which would split crypto oversight between the SEC and CFTC, saying only legislation can create durable rules that a future SEC cannot easily reverse.
