South Korea Plans Up to 222.8 Trillion Won in Bond Issuance for 2027

According to Sina Finance, South Korea plans to issue up to 222.8 trillion won in bonds next year under its 2027 budget proposal. Four unnamed finance ministry and budget ministry officials said 110.7 trillion won would be used to repay maturing debt, while 15.9 trillion won would be allocated to market operations such as buybacks, leaving net issuance at about 96.3 trillion won. Two finance ministry officials said the cap for foreign-currency-denominated foreign exchange stabilization bonds is $8 billion, while the cap for won-denominated stabilization bonds is 13.8 trillion won.
