SK Telecom to Spin Off AI Data Center Unit SK Horizon and Seek 3.08 Trillion Won in Funding

SK Telecom said it will spin off its artificial intelligence data center business into a new standalone entity called SK Horizon and plans to raise a total of 3.08 trillion won in external funding. According to ChainCatcher, the spin-off transaction is expected to be completed on February 1, 2027. Global private equity firm KKR and a consortium of IMM Investment and Stonebridge Capital may participate in the investment.
