Russian Central Bank Adds 2,600 Suspected Illegal Crypto Wallets to Monitoring System

Russia's central bank has added 2,600 crypto wallet addresses suspected of illegal activity to a special information system, according to Bits.media. According to ChainCatcher, the addresses are linked to legal entities, project teams, and individual business owners, and have received about 1 billion rubles in crypto assets. The system has been opened to government agencies and law enforcement, and bank transactions connected to the listed addresses are likely to be frozen. The central bank said 74% of the addresses were tied to financial pyramids and fraud, including fake crypto investments, fabricated data center projects, and illegal crypto lending involving USDT stablecoins.
