According to CNBC, U.S. stock futures were little changed Thursday night after a session in which a sharp jump in oil prices and weak earnings from Tesla and Alphabet pressured equities. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures fell 11 points, S&P 500 futures slipped slightly and Nasdaq-100 futures rose 0.1%. Brent crude futures topped $100 per barrel for the first time since late May, while West Texas Intermediate futures gained about 6% after two Saudi oil tankers were reportedly struck in the Red Sea. The Dow fell more than 500 points, or about 1%, for its fifth loss in six sessions, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq posted their worst one-day declines since June 23, losing 1.2% and 2.2%, respectively. Tesla dropped nearly 15% after missing second-quarter earnings, and Alphabet fell 7% after raising full-year capital expenditure guidance. Thursday's moves put the major averages on track for weekly losses, with the Dow down 0.8%, the S&P 500 off 0.7% and the Nasdaq down 1.5%.
