DeepSeek founder Liang Wengfeng said domestic AI chip substitution is entering a historic opportunity, arguing that hardware and ecosystem compatibility are not major obstacles and that Nvidia cannot stop the replacement trend. According to ChainCatcher, he said the main issue is insufficient production capacity and predicted the market perception that domestic chips are unusable or difficult to use could change within one year.
He also said Nvidia's CUDA ecosystem moat is weakening rapidly as industry changes and export controls create a development window for domestic AI chips. He said DeepSeek has worked with Huawei and obtained 16,000 950 cards to help run through the ecosystem, and added that Huawei's 950 supernode can fully replace Nvidia's GB200 and GB300 in performance and price.
