SEB Chief Economist Jens Magnusson said U.S. President Donald Trump has recently sent contradictory signals on several major issues, increasing market uncertainty. According to Jin10, he said ceasefire agreements have alternated between taking effect and failing, negotiations have alternated between continuing and stopping, the Strait of Hormuz has alternated between being closed and open, and shipping through the strait has alternated between being exempt from tariffs and being subject to tariffs before exemption was restored. Magnusson added that all of these developments occurred over just a few days since last Sunday. He also said Trump's Thursday prime-time address to the nation is expected to cover a wide range of topics.
