Baidu said its Apollo Go autonomous driving vehicles have been tested in Hong Kong for more than a year. According to Ming Pao, Baidu vice president Yang Nan, general manager of the overseas business unit of its Intelligent Driving Group, said the test area expanded from Airport Island to North Lantau, Kowloon East and Hong Kong Island South.
Yang said the vehicles have adapted to Hong Kong’s right-hand-drive, left-side traffic rules and have operated safely and smoothly across multiple complex scenarios, laying a foundation for further overseas market expansion.
