Hungary’s new Minister of Science and Technology, Zoltán Tanács, said the government plans to repeal the previous administration’s cryptocurrency regulations and align the country’s rules with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework.
According to NS3.AI, the government also intends to halt criminal penalties for providing unapproved crypto services.
The announcement outlines a shift away from the prior regulatory approach while moving toward standards consistent with the EU’s MiCA regime.
