Hugging Face Founders Join Bloomberg Billionaires Index After Nvidia Deal

Nvidia’s roughly $13 billion acquisition of AI platform Hugging Face has made its three French co-founders billionaires, according to Bloomberg. According to ChainCatcher, Clément Delangue, Julien Chaumond, and Thomas Wolf each have an estimated net worth of about $1.8 billion and have entered the Bloomberg Billionaires Index for the first time. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2027. The three founders will remain with the company under a six-year retention agreement, and Nvidia said Hugging Face will continue to operate as an open platform where users can upload and download AI models and datasets freely. Hugging Face was founded in 2016, started in Paris, and is now headquartered in Brooklyn.
