STOCKS | Asia-Pacific Shares Rise Ahead of Warsh's Jackson Hole Debut

Asia-Pacific shares edged higher on August 28, while U.S. stock futures fell and Treasury yields continued to climb ahead of Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's first speech at the Jackson Hole global central bank symposium. According to Sina Finance, market participants said investors mainly want one thing from Warsh: clarity. The MSCI Asia Pacific Index rose 0.3%, with gains and losses nearly evenly split. U.S. stock index futures slipped during Asia trading, with the Nasdaq 100 contract down 0.1%, as Marvell Technology fell more than 7% in extended trading after its earnings report. Treasury yields rose 2 to 3 basis points across the curve, while the 2-year yield held at 4.22% and the dollar edged lower.
