U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 11th in U.S. Eastern time that the United States has “ended” its war with Iran, after claiming both sides agreed to a “very strong memorandum of understanding” to stop the fighting. According to Odaily, Trump made the remarks during a phone rally supporting Georgia Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones’ campaign for governor.
Trump said Iran had agreed not to possess nuclear weapons, describing that point as the U.S. position and the main objective, and saying it accounted for “95%” of the agreement.
The comments came after Trump earlier on the same day canceled further strikes against Iran. He also suggested on the Truth Social platform that an agreement had been reached, but did not provide details on the terms.
Iran has not confirmed that any agreement has been reached.
