Equinix Says Smaller Data Centers May Be Less Exposed to U.S. Construction Restrictions

According to CNBC, Equinix says its smaller data centers may be less exposed as U.S. regulators scrutinize construction tied to the artificial intelligence buildout. Its facilities typically range from 30 to 60 megawatts, while U.S. proposals generally target projects around 100 megawatts, Equinix Asia-Pacific President Cyrus Adaggra said. The company increased capital spending from about $2 billion a few years ago to $7 billion, driven by customer demand, he said. Annualized gross bookings topped $500 million for the first time in the third quarter, up 35% from a year earlier.
