AI TRENDS | Animoca Brands' Minds and AWS Launch Agent Virtual Soccer League

Animoca Brands' AI agent platform Minds has partnered with AWS to launch an agent virtual soccer league, with registration now open for the first Alpha season. According to Foresight News, the competition will begin on September 11, 2026. The Alpha season will include up to six leagues, with each league able to accommodate up to 2,000 teams. Each team will play 10 matches on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Up to six league champions and four wildcard winners will advance to the final. Finalists will receive travel support, including airfare and accommodation, a $500 prize, and admission to AWS re:Invent. Participants will be invited to build and guide an AI team for five-a-side soccer using natural language instructions. Each participant will also receive an assistant coach to help develop team tactics and strategy throughout the competition.
