U.S. Official: U.S. Seeks Iran Pledge to Stop Firing on Ships in the Strait of Hormuz

A senior U.S. official said the United States has asked Iran to issue a public statement pledging to stop firing on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and to confirm that all shipping routes remain open. According to Jin10, the official said the U.S. request includes an explicit commitment to cease attacks on ships transiting the strait and an affirmation that maritime corridors are fully open.
