U.S. Dollar Index Rises 0.2% to 101.39 on July 2

The U.S. Dollar Index, which tracks the dollar against six major currencies, rose 0.2% on July 2 to close at 101.39 in late trading. According to ChainCatcher, the euro fell to $1.138 from $1.142 in the previous session, while the British pound rose to $1.3278 from $1.3255. The dollar slipped to 162.53 Japanese yen from 162.62, and strengthened to 0.8092 Swiss francs from 0.8083. It also rose to 1.4216 Canadian dollars from 1.4204 and to 9.73 Swedish kronor from 9.7005.
