Anthropic is rapidly gaining share in the paid-user market as competition with OpenAI intensifies, according to 36Kr. Credit-card transaction analytics firm Indagari said paying users and revenue for Anthropic’s flagship model Claude have risen month by month, with revenue in this segment up about 75% since January 2026.
Indagari said its analysis is based on hundreds of billions of anonymized credit-card transactions from 28 million US consumers, covering weekly transactions from 2025 through May 10, 2026. AI online education platform DataCamp reported a similar trend, saying interest in Claude among its users has surged this year and that “Claude” has become the site’s most-searched term, surpassing “AI.”
