U.S. President Donald Trump Says U.S.-Iran Relations Normalized, Plans to Release Agreement Text

U.S. President Donald Trump said U.S.-Iran relations have now been normalized and that he will release the text of an Iran agreement. According to Odaily, Trump said he will discuss the related documents with the media in the coming days and hold a news conference on the Iran agreement. U.S. Vice President JD Vance said Iran will commit to not obtaining nuclear weapons. Trump also said the Strait of Hormuz would be toll-free and that negotiations with Iran could take longer or shorter than 60 days, adding he hopes a formal signing will be completed before the document is released. Separately, Bloomberg cited regional officials familiar with the matter as saying some Gulf countries and European leaders believe a U.S.-Iran peace agreement could take about six months and have advocated extending the current ceasefire to cover that period. The officials said Gulf countries believe any peace agreement should prohibit Iran from enriching uranium or possessing long-range ballistic missiles.
